Notes From the Bat Team

Room 12 is writing a report about bats. Each team of three read different books about bats. Different books have different facts, so the team shared their notes to write one report.

Mia's notes: Bats are the only mammals that can fly. A bat's wings are made of thin skin. A bat flaps its wings to move through the air.

Omar's notes: Many bats rest during the day. Some hang upside down in dark places, such as caves. When night comes, they fly out to hunt for food.

Priya's notes: Many bats eat insects. These bats make high squeaks and listen for the echoes. The echoes help them find food in the dark.

The team read all three sets of notes out loud. "Let's put the facts in a good order," said Omar. "Then we can write our report together."
