The puppet workshop test

Listen to the workshop notes. Use the notes and pictures to answer the questions.

A Test at the Museum

Jada and Ren worked in the puppet workshop at a children's museum. They needed a way to send a message from the button table to the puppet stage. The tables were 8 child steps apart.

They tried two small devices. For the light device, a lamp sat in a basket. Jada lifted a paper flap over the lamp. One bright flash meant WAIT. Two bright flashes meant COME. Ren saw the flashes and wrote the message.

For the sound device, a bell hung inside a cup. Jada pulled a string to ring it. Three rings meant STOP. Ren wrote the message after listening.

Jada and Ren sent five coded messages with each device. Ren wrote the light messages correctly 4 times. Ren wrote the bell messages correctly 3 times. Visitors were talking during both tests.
