Read the Recording Notes

Use the recording notes and table for questions 1–4. On this worksheet, one lap means one pool length.

The team practices in a 25-meter pool. Coach Elena records two attributes for each swimmer. For the 50-meter swim, she starts a stopwatch when the swimmer pushes off and stops it when the swimmer touches the wall after two laps. She records total seconds to the nearest tenth. For a separate 8-minute swim, an assistant makes one tally whenever a swimmer finishes a lap. Only completed laps count.
