How to Make Spin Art

Spin art is a colorful way to paint without a brush. All you need is a salad spinner, paper, and paint in squeeze bottles. Keep this spinner just for art, not for food.

Step 1: Put on an old shirt. Spin art can get messy!

Step 2: Unpack the paper. Cut a circle that fits in the bottom of the spinner basket, and lay it flat.

Step 3: Carefully squeeze a few drops of paint onto the paper. Use two or three colors. If you add too much paint, it will make a puddle.

Step 4: Put the lid on. Turn the handle slowly at first, then quickly. The paint will spread out in bright lines.

Step 5: Lift the lid and take out your art. If you dislike how it looks, you can add more paint and spin it again. When you are happy with it, lay it on a table to dry.

Helpful tip: Save your paper scraps. You can reuse them to make a bookmark.
