Give Pickleball a Try
Pickleball is a game played with paddles and a plastic ball full of holes. Players hit the ball back and forth over a low net. I think pickleball is the perfect sport for families to play together.
Pickleball is easy to learn. The paddles are short and light, so they are simple to swing. The ball moves slower than a tennis ball, which gives new players time to reach it. Pickleball has a silly name, too.
Players of all ages can join in. The court is small, so nobody has to run very far. A grandpa and a second grader can even play on the same team. My favorite court is next to a big oak tree.
Getting started does not cost much. Many parks have courts that anyone can use for free. Players only need to bring paddles and a ball. My own paddle is green with white stars.
Pickleball is easy to learn, everyone can play, and it costs little to start. Grab a paddle, find a court and have fun with your family!
