The Missing Handbell
(The music room at school. It is the evening of the spring concert. Bells sit in a row on a long table.)
MS. RUIZ: The concert starts in ten minutes! Everyone, put on your white gloves and pick up your bell.
PRIYA: Oh no! My bell is gone. It is the smallest one, and it rings the highest note.
JONAH: Let's look under the table. (Jonah crawls under the table.) I only see a pencil down here.
MS. RUIZ: Did you check the bell case, Priya?
PRIYA: Yes, but it is empty. (She shakes her gloves to put them on. Something jingles.) Wait! What was that?
JONAH: It came from your glove!
PRIYA: (She reaches into a glove and pulls out a tiny bell.) I tucked my bell in here after practice so it would not get scratched. I forgot!
MS. RUIZ: (laughing) Now our song will have every note. Let's go ring!
