Zinnias for the Team Entrance
The field hockey team wants flower pots beside its equipment shelter. Before choosing a care plan, Priya tests four young zinnia plants for 10 days. Each plant starts with four green leaves. The plants are about the same size. Their pots and amounts of soil match.
Priya sets up two tests. Test 1 compares sunlight: Plant A gets sunlight, and Plant B stays in a dark space. Both get the same measured amount of water each morning. Test 2 compares water: Plants C and D get sunlight side by side. C gets water each morning. D gets no water.
The four places have the same temperature and enough air. Priya checks the plants each day. On day 10, she counts attached leaves and records how they look. No starting leaves have fallen off. She has not measured plant height or counted flowers.
