Saturday at the Deli

On Saturday mornings, Rafi helps at his grandpa's deli. He wears a small white apron and stands next to the bread.

A woman steps up to the counter. "Good morning, ma'am," Rafi says. "How may I help you today?" She asks for a turkey sandwich on rye bread. "Certainly," says Rafi. "Would you like a pickle with that?"

Then his cousin Bea bursts through the door. She waves and shouts, "Hey, what's up?" Rafi grins and says, "Not much." He points at the big jar and asks, "Wanna grab a pickle?"

Grandpa winks at Rafi. "You know how to talk to everyone," he says. "You speak one way to customers and another way to family."

Rafi nods. "Customers get my best manners," he says. "Bea gets my silly jokes."
