The Trolley Ride

Wendell and his grandma rode the red trolley downtown. The trolley went clang, clang as it started. Wendell sat by the window so he could look out.

They rolled past a park with a tall tower. A crowd stood on the corner. A brown dog barked at the trolley, and Wendell waved at it.

Grandma pointed to the hill. A big gray cloud hung over it. "We may get a storm," she said. Wendell did not mind. The trolley had a roof!

At the last stop, they got out and found a cart that sold hot corn. Wendell ate his corn with a fork. "This is the best ride in town," he said with a smile.
