How to Wrap a Gift

Use clues in a how-to text to learn new words.

Read the how-to

Read the steps. Look for clues that tell what new words mean.

How to Wrap a Gift

1You need a box, wrapping paper, tape and scissors. Ask a grown-up to help you cut.

2First, turn the box upside down, so its top is on the bottom. Set it in the center, or middle, of the paper.

3Next, pull the paper over the box. Pull it snug, so it fits close with no loose spots. Tape it down.

4Then trim any extra paper at the ends. To trim means to cut off a little bit.

5Last, fold in the paper at each end. Press each fold hard with your finger to make a crease. A crease is a sharp line where paper is folded. Tape the ends, and your gift is ready!
