Inside the Fire Station

1A fire station is where firefighters work. When the alarm rings, they must hurry. Some stations have a long pole. A firefighter slides down the pole to reach the truck fast.

2Firefighters put on special clothes called gear. Their gear has a hard hat, thick boots, and a heavy coat. It keeps them safe from heat.

3The fire truck carries a hose. A hose is a long tube that water flows through. When the truck rushes out, its siren is loud. The siren tells cars to move out of the way.
