Two Dream Rides
Compare a whale ride under the sea with a cloud ride in the sky.

Read two stories
Read both stories. Think about how Zoe's and Raj's adventures are alike and how they are different.
Zoe's Whale Ride
1One night, Zoe fell asleep and had a dream. In her dream, a big blue whale swam up to her. "Hop on!" said the whale. Zoe climbed onto its smooth back.
2Down, down they went, under the sea. They swam past pink coral and a sleepy sea turtle. The water was cool and quiet, and Zoe felt calm. The whale sang a low, slow song.
3In the morning, Zoe woke up in her bed. Her toy whale was on her pillow. Zoe smiled and hugged it.
Raj's Cloud Ride
1One night, Raj fell asleep and had a dream. In his dream, a soft white cloud floated to his window. "Climb in!" said the cloud. Raj sank into it like a pillow.
2Up, up they went, high in the sky. They floated over tall buildings and a busy city street. The wind was cold, and Raj laughed and shouted, "Wheee!" A flock of geese flew beside them and honked hello.
3In the morning, Raj woke up in his bed. His window was open, and the curtains were flapping in the wind. Raj smiled and closed it.
