A Day to Thank Mr. Okafor
Every morning, Mr. Okafor unlocks the doors of Sunnyside School before anyone else arrives. He is our custodian, and he works hard all day. I believe our school should hold a Custodian Thank-You Day to show him how much we care.
One reason is that Mr. Okafor keeps our school clean and safe. He mops up spills in the lunchroom, empties the trash cans and fixes squeaky doors. When a light goes out, he changes the bulb so we can see our work.
Another reason is that he helps students in kind ways. Last winter, he found my lost mitten and kept it in his office until I came back for it. He also helps set up chairs for every school play.
Mr. Okafor does so much for all of us, so we should do something for him. A Custodian Thank-You Day would let every class say thanks with cards and a cheer. Let's make him feel as special as he makes our school feel.
