The Bright Orange Shirts
The Comets soccer team sits on the grass at the park. Coach Rosa opens a big box.
COACH ROSA: (holding up a bright orange shirt) Our new team shirts are here!
JADE: (jumping up) Orange! That is my favorite color! It looks like a sunset!
OMAR: (groaning) Orange? We will look like traffic cones.
JADE: Traffic cones are cool! Everyone will notice us.
OMAR: (crossing his arms) That is the problem. I wanted blue, like the sky.
COACH ROSA: (calmly) I picked orange for a reason. On the field, you will spot each other fast, so you can pass the ball quickly.
OMAR: (slowly) Hmm. I still like blue better.
JADE: (giggling) Then wear blue socks! Orange and blue look great together.
