Hana's Inventor Notebook

Monday: Our school has a new Inventors Club! This week it meets every day after school. Mr. Ortiz told us that to invent means to make something new that solves a problem. Then he smiled and said, "In this room, every one of you is an inventor."

Tuesday: My crayons always roll off my desk. So I taped three paper tubes to the lid of a box. Now each crayon stands up in its own tube. My first invention works!

Wednesday: My friend Theo made a watering can from an old bottle. He poked tiny holes in the cap, so the water sprinkles out gently. Mr. Ortiz said it was a very useful tool for our class plants.

Thursday: Kwame made a tall tower out of craft sticks. He is a careful builder. He checks every stick two times before he glues it. His tower did not wobble at all!

Friday: We all cleaned up the room together. Mr. Ortiz thanked us for being so helpful. I can't wait to bring a new problem to solve next week!
