A Display for Snow Days

The firehouse in a snowy town is making a land-and-water display. Town workers bring notes from places they can see safely from land. Snow covers much of the ground. Some water has ice on top. The workers still mark the ponds and stream as water features.

A long stream crosses the top of the area. A tall, narrow hill ridge runs along the right side. Two separate ponds lie below the stream. Land lies between the ponds and between each pond and the stream. The picture cards describe three landmarks.

The map shows the area from above. Its boxes mark places, but they do not show exact outlines. Light-shaded boxes mark water. Other spaces are land. Long and Round label the ponds. Ridge labels the hill ridge. F marks the firehouse. The tree and bench are not marked. The grid does not show real distances.
