Jordan's Bike Shop Field Journal
Jordan is helping the community bike shop make a model of the ground around the shop. Jordan visits the area over several days and records what can be seen from above.
On Day 1, the flat repair yard is in the center. A low, rounded grassy hill is along the north side. A narrow creek curves along the east edge. A small, round pond is in the southwest corner. A strip of dry ground lies between the pond and the creek.
Rain falls before Day 2. The creek is wider, but it still follows its curved path along the east edge. The pond is still round and separate from the creek. On Day 3, the creek is narrow again. The hill and repair yard keep their same places.
Data record: Day 1 — creek width: 1 meter; pond width: 4 meters. Day 2 — creek width: 2 meters; pond width: 4 meters. Day 3 — creek width: 1 meter; pond width: 4 meters.
- A. A view from the creek looking toward the shop
- B. A view from the hill looking across the yard
- C. A view looking straight down over the whole area
- D. A view from inside the bike shop looking outside
On Day 1, what water feature curves along the east edge? Write its name: .
