Read the comic

This comic has six panels. Each panel has a picture, described in words, and the words Jonah tells. Read both parts of every panel.

Jonah Gets Ready

Panel 1
Picture: Morning sun shines into a bedroom. Jonah stands in his pajamas by an open closet. Papa smiles in the doorway.
Words: Today my family is going to Grandma Lu's house for lunch. "Can you get dressed by yourself, Jonah?" Papa asked. "Yes!" I said. "I am big now."

Panel 2
Picture: Jonah's shirt is on backward. The tag sticks out under his chin, and the dinosaur is on his back.
Words: First, I put on my favorite shirt. It has a big green dinosaur on it.

Panel 3
Picture: One leg of Jonah's jeans is rolled up to his knee. One sock is green with stripes. The other sock is orange with polka dots.
Words: Next, I put on my jeans and my socks. That was easy!

Panel 4
Picture: Jonah has his hands on his hips and a big smile. His sneakers are on the wrong feet, so the toes point out to the sides. He wears a fuzzy winter hat. Outside the window, the sun is bright, and a neighbor in shorts waters her flowers.
Words: Then I put on my sneakers and my best hat. "I did it all by myself!" I called.

Panel 5
Picture: Papa kneels and turns Jonah's shirt so the dinosaur is on the front. Jonah's sneakers are now on the right feet. They both laugh.
Words: Papa laughed a happy laugh. "You did get dressed by yourself," he said. "May I help with two small things?" I nodded.

Panel 6
Picture: At Grandma Lu's front door, Jonah wears his winter hat and his two different socks. One leg of his jeans is rolled up. Grandma Lu bends down to hug him. Her socks do not match either. One is purple, and one is yellow.
Words: At Grandma Lu's house, Grandma hugged me tight. "What a fine hat!" she said. "And what fine socks!"
