Living Places on the Bridge Walkway
Compare the plants and animals found in two parts of a city bridge walkway.
Read the walkway records
A class studied two habitats along a city bridge walkway. Use the observation record and graphs to answer the questions. The class looked at the same-sized area in each habitat for the same amount of time. They recorded a kind when they saw it, even if they saw more than one of that kind.
Two Habitats by the Bridge
The class observed an underpass wall and a river-edge bank beside the bridge walkway. The underpass wall was shaded by the bridge. Its plant record listed moss, grass, and clover. Its animal record listed ants, sparrows, spiders, pigeons, and moths.
The river-edge bank received sunlight and was close to the water. Its plant record listed reeds, willow, grass, cattails, mint, and dandelions. Its animal record listed dragonflies, frogs, ducks, and snails. Grass appeared in both plant records. The class used the records and graphs to compare the two habitats.
