Sky Checks at Tide Pool Cove

Use a class investigation to find patterns and predict the next sky check.

Follow the Class Investigation

Listen to the steps. Use the class records to answer.

Two Visits to the Cove

A class studies the sky at Tide Pool Cove on two days in a row. They stay on dry sand, away from the pools.

Step 1: Mark a safe spot with a mat. Use that spot for both visits.

Step 2: Check in the morning, at noon, in late afternoon, and after dark. Compare these different times.

Step 3: Record which sky objects are seen and where the sun appears. An adult helps. Children do not look straight at the sun.

Step 4: Compare the records. The sky is clear at each check.
