A Plan for Visitors
A snowy town has a snowshoe hut. Visitors borrow snowshoes there. The hut needs sky-watch cards to help visitors plan when and where to watch the sky. Imani and her grandpa make notes for four days. They stand on the same marked spot beside the hut for each check. The sky is clear at each check. Grandpa records where the sun appears. They do not look straight at the sun. Then they use their notes to compare card designs.

The blue flag and red flag are on opposite sides of the hut.
Day 1: Morning—low by the blue flag. Midday—higher in the sky. Late afternoon—low by the red flag.
Day 2: Morning—low by the blue flag. Midday—higher in the sky. Late afternoon—low by the red flag.
Day 3: Morning—low by the blue flag. Midday—higher in the sky. Late afternoon—low by the red flag.
Day 4: Morning—low by the blue flag. Midday—higher in the sky. Late afternoon—low by the red flag.
