1Dev wanted jam on his toast. He got a new jar of strawberry jam from the shelf. He twisted the lid, but it did not move.

2"I am strong," Dev said. He twisted harder. His face got red, but the lid stayed stuck.

3His big sister, Mira, tried next. She wrapped a towel around the lid and twisted. "This lid is stuck like glue!" she said.

4Then Grandma came into the kitchen. She ran warm water over the lid. She gave the lid one twist. Pop! The jar was open.

5"How did you do that?" asked Dev. "Warm water helps a stuck lid let go," Grandma said. Dev spread the jam on his toast. It tasted extra sweet.
