Sami and the Pomegranate

On Sunday, Grandma put a big red pomegranate on the kitchen table. "Let's open it together," she said to Sami.

Grandma cut the fruit in half. Sami squeezed one half, and red juice squirted onto his shirt! Sami laughed. "Oops!"

Next, Grandma filled a bowl with water. She showed Sami how to pull out the seeds under the water. The seeds sank to the bottom. The white skin floated to the top.

Sami scooped out the white skin. Then they put the shiny red seeds on their yogurt. "Yum!" said Sami. "They taste sweet and a little sour."
