A Flashlight Test

1At Cloudwatch Mountain Station, Lina tested materials for a small weather box. An adult held the same flashlight. Lina placed each sample in the same holder in the beam. She looked at a card behind the sample and a card to its side.

2The clear plastic made a bright spot on the card behind it. The tracing paper made a faint spot behind it. The wool cloth made no spot on either card.

3The shiny metal sheet made no spot on the card behind it. It made a bright spot on the card to the side. Lina wrote each observation before testing the next sample.

1.
