Mole Knows the Way

Mole lived under a wide green meadow. Her eyes were tiny, and she could not see well. Rabbit and Chipmunk liked to tease her. "Mole bumps into rocks!" they laughed.

One evening, a thick gray fog rolled over the meadow. Rabbit and Chipmunk could not see their homes. They felt scared and hopped in circles.

Mole poked her nose out of the dirt. "I do not need my eyes," she said. "I can find the way with my nose." Mole sniffed the ground. Step by step, she led them home to the old stone wall.

"Thank you, Mole," said Rabbit. "We are sorry we teased you," said Chipmunk. After that, the three animals played together every day.
