Helicopters

1A helicopter is a flying machine. It has long blades on top. When the blades spin fast, they lift the helicopter into the air.

2A helicopter can fly straight up and straight down. It can fly forward, backward, and to the side. When a helicopter stays still in the air, it is hovering.

3A helicopter does not need a long runway. It can land in a small space, like a field or the top of a building. That is why helicopters can help people in many places.
