From Cotton Plant to Shirt

Many shirts are made from cotton. Cotton comes from a plant. The plant grows in fields where the weather is warm.

The cotton plant makes soft, white puffs. When the puffs are ready, people or machines pick them.

Next, machines clean out the seeds. Then other machines twist the cotton into long, thin thread.

The thread is made into cloth. Workers cut the cloth into pieces. They sew the pieces together to make a shirt.

So a soft shirt and a fluffy plant are connected. Each step leads to the next one.
