Our Beach Test

Listen to the test and the results. Use them to answer.

Sunlight and Shade

On a beach, our class fills two trays with sand, two with smooth rocks, and two with water. Each pair has the same amount. All trays start cool.

We put one tray of each kind in sunlight. We put the other trays in shade under a beach umbrella. We wait 15 minutes for every tray. Our teacher uses thermometers to check each material. We do not touch hot surfaces.
