About this worksheet

What students practice

  • Students find the volume of a solid made of two rectangular prisms by adding their volumes.
  • Students use a total volume and one part's volume to find the other part's volume.
  • Students show that splitting a solid into two prisms in different ways gives the same total.

How to use

Have students sketch each castle and label the two blocks before computing. Ask them to find each block's volume, then add, and to label answers in cubic inches.
