New Food Friday: Amara Plans Her Opinion

Find the topic, the opinion and the reasons, then plan your own.

Read Amara's letter

Amara wants her family to try something new at dinner. Read her letter.

Let's Try New Food Friday

1Dear Family,
Every Friday night, we eat the same dinner: spaghetti. Spaghetti is tasty, but our Friday dinners have started to feel a little boring. I think we should start New Food Friday, when we try one new dish each week.

2My first reason is that we could learn about foods from other places. We could make empanadas, jollof rice, or bibimbap. My second reason is that everyone can take turns choosing. Grandpa could pick a dish he ate when he was a boy. My third reason is that trying new foods helps us find new favorites. Maybe we will love something we have never tasted!

3We do not have to give up spaghetti. We can still eat it on other nights of the week. We can also cook the new dishes together, so nobody has to do all the work. I will help chop, stir, and wash the dishes.

4Please say yes to New Food Friday!
Love,
Amara
