The Tree Nursery Water Journal

Use field notes and a graph to find water in different places and forms.

Read the field journal

Nora visited a tree nursery for five days. Read her notes and use the graph to answer the questions.

Nora's Field Journal

On Day 1, Nora saw liquid water in the nursery pond. She also watched a worker draw liquid water from a well. The well reached below the ground.

On Day 2, frost covered the tops of some seedling pots. On Day 3, ice covered part of the pond. Nora also saw liquid water under the ice. On Day 4, liquid water came from a buried irrigation pipe, and a small spring flowed on the hillside.

Nora recorded one clue for each place or part of a place that she observed. The graph shows four of the places in her notes.
