Read the field notes

A class visited two places at Green Loop Recycling Center. Read the notes and use the graph to answer the questions.

Two Places at Green Loop

Near the north tree line, students watched squirrels visit an oak tree. A squirrel carried an acorn away from the tree toward a patch of loose soil. One acorn fell on the soil. Another squirrel pushed an acorn under the soil with its nose.

In the south compost garden, students watched bees visit marigolds. A bee touched the center of one marigold. Yellow dust was visible on the bee's legs. The bee then visited a second marigold, and some yellow dust was visible on the center of that flower.

The students recorded one squirrel trip when a squirrel carried an acorn away from the oak. They recorded one bee visit when a bee moved from one marigold to another. The graph shows their counts from four mornings.
