A Saturday at the Community Center

On Saturday morning, volunteers met at the Meadowview Community Center. They picked up litter near the entrance, sorted cans and paper for recycling, and carried boxes for the neighborhood food shelf. The center's rule said to keep the ramp clear, so the volunteers placed every box away from it.

At noon, a soccer game began on the field. The children took turns at the open goal and invited younger children to play. At the corner, families followed a traffic law: they used the marked crosswalk and waited for the walk signal before crossing.

Elena noticed a loose board on a fence. She told the center manager instead of trying to fix it herself because tools and permission were needed. By evening, the entrance was cleaner, the ramp was open, and people had shared the field safely.
