A Box for Uncle Ray

Lina lives in Tucson, Arizona. Her uncle Ray lives far away in Juneau, Alaska. Every fall, Lina packs a box of treats and mails it to him before Thanksgiving.

This year, Lina picked his favorite snacks. She packed two boxes of Crunch Bunch granola bars and a jar of Sunny Bee honey. She added a pair of warm Snug Paws mittens, because winter in Juneau is long and chilly.

Lina also drew a map for Uncle Ray. It showed the Sonoran Desert around her home and the Pacific Ocean near his. On the back she wrote, "I will see you on New Year's Day!"

Uncle Ray called when the box came. "The mittens fit!" he said. "I will mail you a card on Valentine's Day."
