Teo Paints the Fence

1On Saturday, Teo helped his grandma, Abuela, paint the old fence in the backyard. Abuela gave Teo a small brush. "Paint slowly, and keep the paint on the fence," she said.

2Teo painted up and down, up and down. He hummed a happy song. His cat, Nube, watched from the porch steps. Then Nube jumped down to see what Teo was doing.

3At lunchtime, Abuela looked at the fence. Then she looked at Teo and laughed. "The fence got paint, and so did you!" she said. Teo laughed too.

Picture 1 (goes with paragraph 1): The sun shines in a blue sky. The old fence is gray. A can of blue paint sits on the grass. Teo wears a big old shirt that hangs down to his knees. Abuela wears a straw hat and holds a wide brush.
Picture 2 (goes with paragraph 2): Part of the fence is blue now. Nube is a fluffy white cat. Nube has one blue paw. Little blue paw prints go from the paint can across the grass.
