Walruses on the Ice

A walrus is a big animal that lives in the cold sea. It has two long tusks. Tusks are very long teeth. A walrus can use its tusks to pull itself up onto the ice.

Under its skin, a walrus has blubber. Blubber is a thick layer of fat. It keeps the walrus warm in icy water.

Walruses often rest together in a big group. The group is called a herd.
