Priya wrote this note for the babysitter who will watch her little brother tonight. Read it carefully.
Notes for Ms. Okafor
1Dear Ms. Okafor, Thank you for watching my brother Theo tonight while Mom and Dad are out. Theo is six, and he may tell you that he goes to bed at ten o'clock. He does not! I wrote this note so you will know what to do from the time you arrive until my parents get home at about ten.
2Dinner (6:00): Theo's dinner is the bowl of macaroni with peas on the top shelf of the fridge. Heat it in the microwave for one minute, stir it, and heat it for thirty more seconds. Please have him sit at the kitchen table while he eats. Theo is allergic to peanuts, so please do not give him any snacks from the pantry. For dessert, he may have the apple slices in the green container.
3Play time (6:30 to 7:30): Theo can choose one board game, or he can build with his blocks in the living room. He is not allowed to play outside after dark. If he asks for the tablet, the answer is no on school nights. When play time is over, please ask him to put his toys back in the red bin.
4Bedtime (7:30 to 8:00): At 7:30, Theo takes a bath and brushes his teeth. His pajamas are folded on his bed. Read him one book, and then turn off the ceiling light. He likes the small star lamp on his dresser to stay on all night.
5If you need help: Mom's phone number is on the yellow card by the front door. Our neighbor, Mr. Reyes, lives in the blue house to the left, and he is home tonight. In an emergency, call 911 first. There is a flashlight in the kitchen drawer next to the stove.
6I will be at my friend Lena's sleepover tonight, but you can call Mom at any time. Thank you again for taking care of Theo! From, Priya
