The Last Play

On Saturday morning, the Green Foxes came to Cedar Park for a flag football game. Tariq wore his lucky green socks. Before the game, Coach Amara told the players to listen for her whistle.

The Blue Jays scored first. Tariq felt worried, but he kept trying. He ran fast and grabbed a flag from a Blue Jay's belt. Then Mei threw the ball high, and Dev caught it in the end zone. Now the score was tied!

On the last play, Tariq slipped on the wet grass and fell down. Mei held out her hand, and Tariq quickly stood up.

Next, the ball went to Mei. She hid it behind her back, and the Blue Jays chased her. But Mei gave the ball to Tariq! He ran down the field and into the end zone. The Green Foxes won the game, and the whole team sang all the way home.
