Meadowbrook and Ridgeview

Class 2 is studying two small farm towns on a map. Meadowbrook is west of Ridgeview.

Meadowbrook sits on a wide stretch of level land. Farmers plant long rows of corn there. A river winds along the south side of town and empties into a lake east of town. The lake is broad and still.

Ridgeview is near steep, tall landforms. A lower strip of land lies between two of them, and a road follows this low strip. This town also has a small farm. North of Ridgeview is a huge body of salt water that reaches far beyond the map's edge. A small piece of land sits in that water; water surrounds it on every side.

Both towns have roads, homes, and fields, but their land and water features are not the same. The map helps the class compare the two places.
