How to Make a Paper Pinwheel
Our art class made pinwheels. A pinwheel is a paper toy that spins when air moves. Here is how to make one.
First, get a square piece of paper. Draw a big X from corner to corner.
Next, cut along each line. Stop before you reach the center because the middle must stay in one piece.
Then fold one point from each corner into the center.
Ask a grown-up to push a pin through the points and into a pencil eraser. Get help because pins are sharp.
Now hold up your pinwheel and blow. It will twirl because the moving air pushes on the folds. Outside, a soft breeze can make it twirl too.
