A Letter for Imani

Imani wrote a letter to her cousin Bao, who lives far away. Every day she ran outside to check the mailbox. She was eager to get a letter back, so she could hardly wait.

One windy day, the mailbox lid was ajar. It was open just a little, and Imani could peek inside. The mailbox was empty.

"Be patient," said Dad. "Letters take time to travel, so we have to wait." Imani sighed and waited.

At last, a fat envelope came. It was stuffed with a drawing, a photo, and a long letter. Imani grinned from ear to ear. She was overjoyed!
