About this worksheet

What students practice

  • Students spell the long a sound with ai in the middle of a word and ay at the end.
  • Students spell the long o sound with oa in the middle of a word and ow at the end.
  • Students find and fix words that break a vowel team rule.

How to use

Say each sound clue aloud slowly and have students tell where the long vowel sound is: in the middle or at the end. The sign section works well as a partner editing task.
