About this worksheet
What students practice
- Students give the most specific name for a quadrilateral or triangle from a list of its properties.
- Students list every category a figure belongs to in the quadrilateral hierarchy.
- Students judge true and false statements about how shape categories fit inside each other.
How to use
Review the camp shape guide together and draw the family tree on the board: quadrilateral, parallelogram, then rectangle and rhombus, then square. Let students refer to it throughout.
Curriculum

Camp Badge Shape Sort
Name each badge shape and place it in the shape family tree.
Name the badge
Read the camp shape guide. Then give the most specific name for each badge shape.
A polygon is a closed flat shape with straight sides.
