Capital Letters on a Road Trip

Use capital letters for names, places, dates, titles and letters.

Names of people and places

Begin every proper noun with a capital letter. A proper noun names one particular person, place, day, month, holiday or language. Words made from the name of a country, such as Canadian or Japanese, also begin with a capital letter. Common nouns such as city, lake, aunt and summer do not need a capital letter unless they begin a sentence or are part of a name.

Lena Okafor and her family took a road trip this summer. She sent postcards home to her grandpa. Every sentence on this sheet comes from her trip.
