Clues from the Night Garden
The night-tour team made records at the zoo. They watched a parent fruit bat named Nova and two young bats named Pip and Sia. The team also checked a parent fern and a young fern in the night garden.
Nova had dark brown fur, pointed ears, a pale stripe on her nose, and wings that measured 32 centimeters. Pip had dark brown fur, rounded ears, a pale stripe on his nose, and wings that measured 18 centimeters. Sia had gray-brown fur, pointed ears, no pale stripe on her nose, and wings that measured 20 centimeters.
The parent fern had green fronds. Each frond had 7 leaflets. The fern was 28 centimeters tall. The young fern also had green fronds. Each frond had 5 leaflets, and the plant was 11 centimeters tall.
The team wanted to make family clue cards for visitors. The team would use the records instead of guessing from one detail.
