Street Sweepers: A Class Research Page

Use a book and a visitor to write about a truck that helps the town.

Read the sources

Room 3 is making a class book about trucks that help the town. Their page is about street sweepers. They read a book and listened to a visitor. Read what they found.

Source 1: A Book Called Trucks That Clean

A street sweeper is a truck that cleans streets. It has round brushes that spin. The brushes sweep up dirt, leaves, and trash. The truck sprays water so dust does not fly up. The dirt goes into a big bin inside the truck.

Source 2: Mr. Diaz, a Street Sweeper Driver

I drive a street sweeper. I start work very early, when the streets are quiet. I drive slowly so the brushes can get all the dirt. When the bin is full, I dump it out at the town yard.
