The Pine Trail Sled Test

At Snowy Pine Trail, a class tested a small wooden sled. Each time, they used the same gentle push, start line, and blue flag. On plain snow, the sled reached the flag in 6 claps and went straight. A felt strip made it take 8 claps and go straight. A smooth board made it take 5 claps and go straight. A curved side rail made it turn left toward a blue marker in 6 claps.

1.
What did the class keep the same in each test?
  • A. The trail part under the sled
  • B. The direction of the curved rail
  • C. The push, start line, and blue flag
  • D. The number of claps for the sled
