Notes from the Bike Shop

Nia and Omar visit a community bike shop. At the vine wall, a climbing vine's roots push loose soil aside near a damp crack. Its stems wind around a fence, and its leaves reach toward the sunny side. At the bird shelf, a sparrow carries grass to an empty crate. The bird lines the crate with grass.

People also change the repair corner. They place a wide board over an open rack. After rain, the tools under the board stay dry. The children look at all three changes: the vine's, the sparrow's, and people's.
