The Rooftop Sky Route

Use sky observations to plan visits for a city rooftop club.

Read the rooftop notes

The city rooftop weather club is making a sky-route board. Use the two days of clear-sky notes to answer the questions.

Two Clear Days Above the City

Jalen and Noor checked the sky from a city rooftop. They used the same three daytime times on two clear days: 7:00 in the morning, 12:00 noon, and 4:00 in the afternoon.

On Day 1, the sun was low in the east at 7:00. At noon, it was high in the sky toward the south. At 4:00, it was low in the west. On Day 2, the sun was low in the east at 7:00, high toward the south at noon, and low in the west at 4:00.

The club also checked the moon at 7:00 and 10:00 in the evening. On both nights, the moon was low in the east at 7:00 and high toward the south at 10:00. The sky was clear for both nights.

At 8:00 in the evening, the club saw a few stars on both nights. At 10:00, the club saw many stars on both nights. The club wants to choose visit times for a new rooftop sky-route board.
