Leaves That Stay

Nia and Bo find a way to keep fall leaves on their art page when the wind blows.

Play the quiz as a game

It is fall. Nia and Bo sit by the school garden. Red and gold leaves drop from a tree. Nia picks up three crisp leaves. They crackle in her hand.

They make a leaf page. The heading at the top says, "Fall Colors." Bo draws the tree. Nia puts her leaves on the page.

A gust of wind blows the leaves off. "Oh!" says Nia. "How can we make them stay?"

Bo gets paste. Nia sticks each leaf to the page. Now the wind cannot lift them.

Nia adds a caption under the tree. It says, "Our tree in fall." They hang the page inside their class.
